Necklace Tamtout
- Description
- Composition and weight
Long necklace in the shape of a ball engraved in solid silver with a small seed inside.
It is the necklace for pregnant women.
The story of the tamtout necklace:
Tamtout is woman in Tamashek, the language of the Tuaregs.
In India, women wear bolas during pregnancy, bell necklaces that emit a ringing sound that the child will recognize when born and which will reassure and soothe him, subsequently helping him to fall asleep.
I was inspired by this Indian tradition and I designed this sphere engraved with Tuareg motifs. Inside, there is no bell but a small seed. It therefore only makes a very light, soft and discreet sound, but full of symbols!
