I imagined these asymmetrical buckles, a silver buckle in a half circle, the other in bronze with an undulating shape. The two parts come together like pieces of a puzzle. 

They look like two parts of a seashell that have come apart. Both parts of the mouth, two open lips. They come to emphasize the oval of the face.
