The Basile Ombre Claire ring is a men’s signet ring in solid 999 silver. It is handcrafted by Tuareg artisans in Niger.

The history of the Basile silver ring: 

Since childhood, I have been fascinated by Inuit culture. My favorite display at the Museum of Man was the one dedicated to the North Pole and I read “Apoustiak, the little snowflake” by Paul Emile Victor over and over again before going to bed. Even today I read and reread this book to my son who “as if by chance” likes snow-white animals…

The Inuit were undoubtedly the first to invent sunglasses to withstand the reflection of the sun on the ice floe. Carved from seal bones, two slits allow light to pass through.

I designed the Basile ring thinking of his sunglasses, the patterns of snowy owls and embroidered hands on Inuit clothing.

Basile makes documentaries for which he travels to the four corners of the planet to discover multiple and varied cultures. We imagined his meeting with the Inuit.
