The Semainier Ombre Claire ring is a fine ring in recycled solid 999 silver, engraved with patterns and adorned with a small colored cotton thread (choose from 8 shades). It is handmade by Tuareg artisans in Niger.

The history of the Semainier ring:

Among nomads, women wear weekly bracelets which are 7 in number. On the first day of the week, women pass a bracelet from one wrist to the other and each day, a bracelet is added to the first. So by counting the number of bracelets on a wrist, they know what day of the week it is. Craftsmen in Agadez (Niger) have taken up this tradition to make weekly rings. The thin Ombre Claire ring has a little something extra: a link of color, to add a fleeting aspect and a touch of color.
